A Weekend in Vegas
Viva Las Vegas, am I right? A couple weeks ago I took my first trip to Las Vegas, and it did not disappoint! I flew Southwest Airlines out of CMH and arrived in Las Vegas after a Layover in Phoenix. I was meeting a couple of friends who I have met whilst traveling abroad (why I love traveling!). After catching an uber from the Airport, I arrived at the Encore Beach Club where I got to see Cheat Codes perform. The one thing that caught me by surprise was the price of the drinks! Needless to say, I only purchased two. We stayed at a friends Aunt's house that first night which was located about 20 minutes outside of Las Vegas.
Friday:
The Group at Encore Beach Club
The next morning we got ready and headed back to the Encore Beach Club for the afternoon! It was windy and once I got in the water, I could not get back out! I spent about four hours (hello pruned fingers!), in the pool! I also purchased a $65 vodka soda, I wouldn't want to ever do that again, pre-gaming is key for this type of venture! You also have the option to purchase single shot drinks which would run you around $23. The only good thing about the $65 drink was that it included 4 shots of vodka. I recommend just getting some drinks before you head into a venue because you save a lot if you don't purchase it within. Once it finally warmed up we got out of the pool and headed to Fremont Street in old Vegas to do the Slotzilla Zipline! With this zip line you lay on your stomach on this mat and they raise you up and send you out! So this was honestly the most comfortable zip line I have ever done! After walking around a bit more we headed back to the hotel we were staying at: Mandalay Bay.
We napped once we got to the hotel, the pool drained us! After we awoke... it was 2am! So nothing else for us that night.
Saturday:
We woke up at went to breakfast at the buffet. It was $25/per person which is a little pricey but they had a ton of options! They also had the option for a mimosa for $7, which had I realized it would be bottomless, I totally would have added that on. We headed to the Wet Republic pool at the MGM Grande. It was much more busy than the previous pool and a much warmer day. Martin Garrix was the performer and he definitely got a good turn out. I purchased a drink there, same size as at the Encore Beach Club but it was only $43! We stayed in the pool the whole time and left before the performance ended. We walked back to the hotel and once again, took a nap. After we woke up we went to Omnia to see Nghtmre perform and it was a blast! We danced until about 4 in the morning, and while the rest of the group wanted to party more, I went back to the hotel to get some sleep before we had to check out in the morning.
Sunday:
After checking out of the hotel, I took an uber to Caesars Palace to see a friend off. After, I had lunch at Pronto by Giada. I enjoyed the Curried Chicken sandwich and I highly recommend! I then just walked the strip, popping into a casino here and there. One thing I made sure not to miss was the Fountain Show at the Bellagio. I do hope the next time I'm in Vegas I will get to check one of the nighttime shows. Once I reached Mandalay, my feet were so worn out from the walk, I collected my bags and took an Uber to the airport. The driver was even nice enough to drive me past the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign. Getting through the airport was a breeze and then I flew back to Columbus Town!
